Coronavirus Q&A: How will our processes work during the crisis?

Hey you! If you’re reading this it’s probably because you’re having trouble with your rotations due to the Coronavirus causing sites and preceptors to limit their regular activities – or maybe you just found this article by accident. Either way, read up!

We know it’s been a hard few days. Anxiety and questions are in the air. You might be asking yourself: What do I do now? Will I be able to complete my rotations before graduation? Can I reschedule the rotation I had already secured? When will this end?

We don’t know the exact answer to all those questions, but what we do know is that we’ll do our best to help you get through this crisis and keep or find the preceptor you want for when the time is right!

Even though every case is different, we set up a short list of doubts and that you might have regarding our processes at the moment – given the COVID-19 circumstances – and answered them for you:

What if my school cancels my clinicals? Do I get a refund?

If your clinical rotation has been canceled, suspended or postponed by your university due to safety concerns, NPHub will:

  1. Apply payments that have already been made towards a clinical for the following semester, or
  2. Refund you for your balance

My school postponed my schedule, but I’ve already booked. What do I do about my preceptor?

We’ll reach out to both your preceptor and school and try to find a way to reschedule your booked rotation. In case it’s not possible, we would refund you all your money. No risk to you!

My school postponed my clinical rotations for the time being and I don’t have a sure date. Could I still book and lock in the preceptor?

We would need a more concrete date to help set everything up for your clinical rotations.

We care a lot about the nurse practitioner community and are extremely proud of it! All healthcare professionals are fighting this virus at the front line of the battle, and that’s why we all should support them and let them know how thankful we are for them.

If you’re a nurse practitioner student, this is a great time to share all the knowledge you have on how to take care of yourself and others. It’s a great opportunity to put yourself out there via social media to help people while you also grow as a professional. Use your Facebook and Instagram pages to inform your loved ones and everyone who wants to follow you, and remember to always post verified information from trustworthy sources!

In situations like this one, we learn so much – from the situation itself and from one another. Take the chance and learn as much as you can so you can be a better professional tomorrow.

At NPHub, we’re always here to help and #EmpowerNPs. If you have any questions about our processes during the Coronavirus crisis, please reach out to us through our social media pages:
